Notarized Copy: Before applying for the Apostille, obtain a notarized copy of your diploma in both Armenian and English.
Apostille at the Ministry of Justice:
Issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, valid for 6 months, and must bear an Apostille. The state fee is 7,000 AMD + 200 AMD (service/terminal fee). Have small bills.

Background: To regulate the influx of underqualified English teachers, the Chinese government made TEFL/TESOL certification mandatory for a work visa in 2019. A September 2019 law further required the certificate to be notarized, legalized by the MFA, and authenticated by the Chinese Embassy to prevent forgery. Since March 2021, Armenian law only authenticated certificates issued by licensed Armenian institutions. Since October 2023, China has joined the Apostille Convention.

The certificate must be authenticated with an Apostille at the Ministry of Justice (Vazgen Sargsyan 3/8).
*Note: All documents apostilled by the Ministry of Justice are issued as color .pdf files, while the physical copies are black and white.
Important: This document is submitted only to the Chinese government. It is not authenticated or verified by Armenian authorities.
Location: Can be done at any polyclinic, but some may be uninformed or unwilling to provide the service.
Cost:
Required to Bring: Passport, copy of passport, one 3×4 cm photo, and the special Medical Examination Form for China (downloadable format attached here, to be filled out in English).
Authentication: The report must be stamped (half on the photo on the 1st page and on the last page) and signed by the physician.
Validity: 7–20 days, depending on employer requirements. It is advised not to undergo the examination prematurely, only upon request.
Processing Time: 1–2 business days.
Submission: The employer may require it in Armenia, in China, or only in China. Clarify this in advance.
This document is issued by the Chinese government after your employer applies on your behalf using your authenticated documents. Based on this letter, you apply for a Z (Work) Visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in Armenia. This visa must be confirmed and converted into a Residence Permit upon arrival in China.
*CRUCIAL REMINDER: Take all your original documents to China, as they are required for the Residence Permit application. Never hand over your personal original documents to a third party, no matter how trustworthy they seem.

Our processing of your personal information is predicated on your explicit consent, which you grant by accepting this Policy and by utilizing the Platform’s features. In addition, certain processing activities may be necessary for the performance of the services you have requested (e.g., sharing your profile with prospective employers) or for compliance with legal obligations to which ChinArmNet is subject. Where applicable, we also rely on our legitimate interests in maintaining, improving, and securing the Platform, provided such interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
ChinArmNet collects and processes your personal information for the following purposes, each of which is essential to the functionality and mission of the Platform:
Profile Creation and Visibility: To create and maintain your professional profile, display your credentials to other users, and facilitate your participation in the ChinArmNet community.
Professional Networking and Matchmaking: To enable employers, recruiters, business partners, and other authorized users to discover your profile, review your qualifications, and contact you regarding employment, collaboration, or other professional opportunities.
Communication: To send you service-related notifications, updates about platform features, job alerts, event invitations, and other communications relevant to your engagement with ChinArmNet. You may adjust your communication preferences in your account settings.
Platform Optimization and Analytics: To analyze usage patterns, improve user experience, enhance functionality, and develop new features. Such processing may be conducted in aggregated or anonymized form wherever possible.
Security and Compliance: To detect, prevent, and address technical or security issues, enforce our Terms of Use, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
ChinArmNet does not sell, lease, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. We may share your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
Within the ChinArmNet Community: Your professional profile and associated information will be visible to other registered users of the Platform, including potential employers, recruiters, partners, and fellow members, in accordance with the visibility settings you select and the functionality of the service.
Third-Party Service Providers: We may engage trusted third-party vendors to perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, data storage, analytics, customer support, and communication services. These service providers are contractually obligated to implement appropriate security measures, to use your information solely for the purposes specified by us, and to adhere to data protection standards no less stringent than those set forth in this Policy.
Legal Obligations and Rights Protection: We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to (i) protect the safety, rights, or property of ChinArmNet, our users, or the public, (ii) investigate fraud or security issues, or (iii) enforce our Terms of Use or other policies.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice prior to your personal information becoming subject to a different privacy policy.
Given the global nature of the ChinArmNet community, your personal information may be stored and processed in countries outside your country of residence. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure that any such transfer complies with applicable data protection laws and that your information remains protected in accordance with this Policy.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide you with the services you have requested, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Upon termination of your account or withdrawal of your consent, we will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with our data retention policies, unless we are required or permitted by law to retain certain records.
ChinArmNet employs a combination of industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include, but are not limited to, encryption of data in transit, access controls, firewalls, and regular security assessments. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with the use of any online platform.
You retain full ownership and control over your personal information. In accordance with applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights:

ChinArmNet relies on the accuracy of the information you provide, and we shall not be liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information. ChinArmNet reserves the right to modify or update this Policy at any time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, by providing prominent notice on the Platform or via email. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any revised Policy constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of the modified terms.
